last stop on the sew illustrated blog tour & giveaway!

Well, that was fun! I hope that you have been following along with the Sew Illustrated blog tour. I am in complete awe and amazement at the beautiful projects that were created over the last couple of weeks. Though really I shouldn’t be surprised–this is such a crazy talented group of makers.

To be completely honest, when Minki and I set out to write this book, we weren’t completely sure how it would be received–it was, um, different. But different turned out to be what people are looking for! Since the release of the book and all along this blog tour, I have heard over and over again how people are a little nervous to give sewing illustration a try. But once they do–they are a little amazed that it’s not as hard as they thought. And we keep getting reports of it being a bit addicting. 🙂

So, thank you to everyone that has cheered us on along the way and shared your projects with us on social media! We love to see what you are making, both from the book and just sewing illustration in general. Please tag us and use the hashtags #sewillustrated and #sewingillustration on Instagram so that we can find out what you are making and be inspired by you!

I am also super excited to be able to giveaway a copy of Sew Illustrated to one lucky blog reader! The giveaway will end on September 10, 2016. You can enter below.

This has been so much fun!! I have all kinds of ideas swimming around in my head! Thanks for all of the hard work the two of you have done. I hope I win a book!

  2. Mary Jane says:

Wow, seeing everyone’s projects in one place made me even more anxious to try some of these ideas. My favorite type of sewing is small projects and I would love to make several of the scissor holders, thanks for the chance to win a copy of your beautiful book!

  3. Mary D says:

I love quilting and creating other sewing projects such as totes. I made garments for many years and enjoyed that also. The projects in Sew Illustrated are so inspiring. Thread is really just like a paintbrush creating color and design all over the place.

I’m not sure I have a ‘favorite’ kind of sewing. If it involves fabric, thread, needles & pins, then I’m loving it. 🙂 The hop has been fun and the projects wonderful. Thanks.

    Love your book!
    I have enjoyed all
    the creations on
    the blogs. I have
    been making some
    bags and I think I
    will try this technique
    out with some stamps
    on fabric and then sew
    the design.

I am currently right in a quilting phase, but I am loving all the pictures of the illustrated sewing. I think I really need to try this.

This book is so inspiring to me with all of its home-spun touches. My favorite type of sewing is improv modern sewing and using scraps. If I can do both in one project, it’s perfect!

Love all these projects. I see Christmas presents. Favorite sewing, hard question really. Anything but making clothes. I have had my fill of that. Mostly I quilt these days.
